Northern Edge Hunting Preserve runs two miles down the Milk River and includes 600 acres of premium upland bird hunting. The existing natural site was already exceptional upland bird habitat, however, we have further cultured the land and dedicated the entire site solely to the pheasants to produce the optimal and successful hunt. The 600 acres of preserve includes four large hunting areas that groups of four or less can hunt at one time. The large area size and low number of hunters permitted per day give you or your group the space and solitude any hunter desires. The four divisions have a long stretch of Milk River frontage and drainage, large coulee fingers, and exceptional food plots. (please refer to maps) Some of the exciting advantages of having a preserve is the extended hunting season, and a no bag limit. The preserve season will be open on September 1st and stay open until March 31st, allowing four additional pheasant hunting months than the typical free range season. Both rooster and hen pheasants can be harvested within a hunting preserve. Another great advantage is the ability to have hunting situations tailored specific to what the hunter desires. This can be very helpful for performing dog training exercises, or while giving a new or young hunter their first bird hunting experience. Here at Northern Edge Hunting Preserve we guarantee the CHANCE at birds, you or your dog's ability to bag birds is out of our hands. These birds are released in their natural habitat and are sure to give you the hunt you expect. In addition to pheasants, Northern Edge provides chukars for a unique hunt that you could not experience in the natural setting of north central Montana. Chukars are a smaller zebra striped bird and have a different flight pattern than that of a pheasant. Chukars will create a diverse and exciting element to Northern Edge preserve. Hunts for the preserve will be based on half day schedules. The morning hunt will be from 8:30am until noon, and the afternoon hunt will be from 2:00pm until legal shooting time or 5:30 whichever comes first. All hunters will meet at the Prairie Farms Club House half an hour before the hunt to fill out any necessary forms, pay for your hunt, and go over the area you will be covering. All necessary hospitality can be provided on site at the club house, which is also located on the beautiful Milk River in a truly one of a kind setting. Enjoy food, snacks, and refreshments with us after your hunt while taking in the magnificent views of the Milk River Valley. |
