Supplementing Northern Edge Hunting Preserve, is a large free range area open for upland bird hunting. This area includes the entire Baltrusch Land and Cattle farm/ranch of over 10,000 acres, with about five miles of Milk River frontage and drainage area. The farm has some great areas for pheasants, hungarian partridge, and sharp-tailed grouse. This is a completely uncontrolled wild hunt however, Northern Edge will be releasing a significant amount of raised pheasants annually in the area to increase the natural population and help with the restoration of wild pheasants. Habitat conservation efforts will also be made yearly to maintain significant numbers of game animals. All hunters wanting to hunt the free range area must check in with Northern Edge, access to the area is only granted to those hunting with Northern Edge to guarantee safety, and quality hunting.
